About Sliptest

Sliptest is the slip resistance testing business unit of Premrest, Australia's go-to for commercial floor care. It exists to give owners and managers of national portfolios one supplier for slip testing, and one company accountable for both the finding and the fix.

Where Sliptest came from

Premrest crews have worked on commercial floors across Australia for years: stone restoration, resilient flooring, anti-slip treatments and coatings, and the day-to-day floor care that keeps large sites presentable. A recurring pattern kept showing up. A client would commission a slip test from an independent tester, receive a table of pendulum numbers, and then call Premrest to ask what any of it meant and what to do. The tester could measure but not fix. Premrest could fix but had not measured. Nobody was accountable for the whole problem.

Sliptest closes that gap. It tests to AS 4663:2013 with both on-site methods, reports every location against its HB 198:2014 target, and when a floor falls short, Premrest quotes and carries out the rectification and Sliptest retests. One company, one register, one point of accountability.

Built for portfolios

Most of our work is for organisations with many sites: shopping centre owners, aged care and healthcare groups, banks and retailers with hundreds of small footprints, strata and property managers. For them the value is consolidation. One account contact schedules rounds across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, every site is scoped the same way, every report follows the same template, and the register shows the whole portfolio on one page. Independence, and why we guard it

Being the tester and the fixer is a strength, and we are careful with it. Measurements follow the standard regardless of what they mean for Premrest's workload. Reports recommend the least disruptive fix that will reach the target, which often means a cleaning change rather than a coating. Every recommendation is written so that any competent contractor can quote from it, and clients are free to do exactly that. The measurement is the product; the rectification is an option that most clients take because it is simpler.

How we test

To AS 4663:2013, with the wet pendulum for any floor that can be wet in service and the dry floor friction method for floors that stay dry. Instruments are verified before each visit and calibrated on a schedule. Slider selection, wetting, conditioning swings and averaging follow the standard. Every location is photographed and its condition recorded so a result can be understood in context and repeated at the same spot next round.

Where

Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane metropolitan areas, with regional sites in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland added to programs on request. Single sites can be priced and booked online.

Sliptest in one line

The slip testing arm of Premrest: one national supplier for slip testing programs, and the only tester whose parent company can quote to rectify what it finds.

What we will not do
  • Report a pass or fail without naming the HB 198:2014 target it was judged against
  • Report a rating without the readings, method and conditions behind it
  • Recommend a coating where a cleaning change will do
  • Lock a client into Premrest for rectification; every recommendation is quotable by others
